This smells of green tea and cherry syrup… not badly, but there’s definitely a candy aspect to the cherry scent.

The taste while very hot is a pleasant mix of the green tea with the cherry flavor a little more Sucrets-ish but not strong. It is lightly there overlaying the green.

As it cools the flavor stays quite nice, but that Sucrets lozenge feeling stays in your mouth (especially along the roof) after you swallow. Not as a flavor, just as a feeling.

It’s not bad but I doubt I’ll have another cup.

I did a little local self guided tea tour the other day and Zhi Tea was my first stop. The cherry part of this tea caught my eye, so I got a sample. I love sample sizes! Dry, this tea smells like rich cherries. I can just barely smell the green tea behind it. The taste is pretty smooth and subtle compared to the loudly flavored teas I am used to and love. I can pick out some cherry on the sip, but most of what I am getting is on the after sip. There wasn’t any bitter or tart edge that needed to be balanced out, so I opted not to add sugar for most of it which is unusual for me. So far it has been equally good for two steepings and at the end of the second cup I added a little sugar which actually kinda killed the cherry. I like it, but it’s not the party in my mouth level of flavor that my favorite teas have. It feels like a more mature taste. I’m not crazy about it, but I feel like I need to explore this one some more before rating it. It has me a little puzzled.

This is one of my favorite green teas. The cherry flavor is subtle and it doesn’t remind me of cherry-flavored lozenges at all. It isn’t overly-grassy like some green teas can be.

Another tea from Lee, Thanks!

Year’s ago I was a fan of a certain spring cherry tea, which I really enjoyed. Now I generally prefer my greens straight up. This tea is ok. The cherry is believable & not too heavy. Nothing I’d purchase, but drinkable.

The dry leaves smell like cherry candy and vegetables.
Brewed, the tea liquor has a beautiful lemongrass color and slight cherry scent. Slight accent of cherry in flavor but mainly a green tea, vegetal flavor. I like the cherry accent, I had never tasted a cherry Sencha before so didn’t know what to expect. This tea pairs nicely with the veggie wrap and steamed lemon-sesame broccoli I am eating for lunch.
Second steep is just as delicious still with cherry scent but mainly green tea in flavor.
