From Yunnan Sourcing

We’ve used Spring 2019 Yong De county of Lincang harvested tea to press these handy little mini ripe tea cakes! Don’t let the small size fool you, these 11 gram mini cakes are perfect small-scale replicas of pu-erh tea cakes (right down to the beenghole in the back). Unlike mini tuo where leaves mush be crushed a bit to conform to the small pressing molds used, these mini cakes feature the same grade material as what we would use in a 250 or 357 gram cake!

Their small size is convenient for taking on the road, gifting to friends, or just convenient for brewing without needing a pick. They can be broken in half if you prefer to use less tea. The smaller size also means that they will age a bit faster than larger cakes and bricks.

The tea itself is full-bodied, thick, with earth and dried fruit notes. It’s a pungent complex tea that is worthy of consideration by discerning ripe pu-erh tea drinkers!

Each mini cake is roughly 11 grams (+/- 1 gram).

These are sold by weight and the weight of the wrapper is factored into the weight (but the wrapper weight is only 0.36 grams).

Total Production Quantity: 200 Kilograms

Tasted this with Mum and my brother-in-law, it was nice to get their input. This was a cute little mini-tuo, we drank half the tuo in a small gaiwan.

It surprised me – the aroma profile was unlike any young shu i’ve had! Apparently the leaves are from Lincang, I need to check whether I’ve ever had any shus from there.
