From Yunnan Sourcing

These tender young leaves were picked from an late autumn of green tea in Simao. The thin, elegant leaves give off a fruity aroma and flavor that has a subtle natural sweetness that is both soothing and invigorating to the drinker. As these are from a large-leaf tea varietal (Camellia Sinensis var. Assamica), they have uniquely Yunnanese characteristics.

These leaves are best brewed in a clear glass or chahai which shows off the tendency of the leaves to line up vertically, some floating at the surface and others sinking to the bottom. We recommend brewing with 85-90C water with short infusion times (10s, 15s, 20s, 30s).

dull green needly leaves
smoke on the nose and a chemically varnish aroma. agree with another note which mentioned green olives.
Light on the palate with nondescript vegetal and more smoky notes.

This tea doesn’t excite me very much, but in fairness, this bag has been open for many months

I love this green tea because it’s so different. I’ve already left a review on it so not going into too much detail. It’s nutty, sweet potato , & slight smoke. I wonder how the new 2015 spring one is going to taste… I’ve had this shopping cart at Yunnan Sourcing full of sale teas for a week. I keep going in to change things but I haven’t ordered yet. Why? I have too many teas! As well, if I order Autumn 2014 on sale, I won’t be able to buy spring 2015 teas. Tough tough decisions.
