2010 Yunnan Sourcing “Pasha Mountain” Autumn Raw 400g
The Autumn Pasha tea is from the southwest side of the mountain where tea trees are growing at an altitude of about 1750 meters (making this one of the highest altitude teas in Xishuangbanna). The tea leaves come from old arbor tea trees that are on average 200 years old. Pasha tea has pronounced hairy buds and thick veined leaves. Picked in the 1 leaf to 1 bud ratio style as is typical of the area.
The tea when brewed gives a strong and persistent aroma. The taste is initially somewhat bitter with little astringency. The mouth-feel is strong and pungent, the cha qi is very energetic and lasting. It can be brewed 10+ times easily.
The Autumn production is named “Autumn Aroma” (秋香). Each cake is stone-pressed by traditional methods and dried with low temperature air drying. The cakes are then wrapped in special paper that is very thick and sturdy. Hand-Made by Dai minority families in Xishuangbanna.

Rinsed this once. 1st steep tasted like cream with a hint of apricot and brewed up a light green yellow. I could smell smoke coming off the next steep, but there was only a bit of acrid flavor in the cup. A bit of ruddy color started to come out here. 3rd steep came out just slightly bitter, it was more of just the feel of the astringentcy on the tongue than anything else. I also got a strange hint of melon flavor in there. The bitterness backs off on the 4th steep and the tea ends up mellow and sweet. It continues to steep up like this with increasing steep times and temperature until it quits around steep 13.
As it is now I’d say this tea while not terribly exciting, was pleasant. Probably a good thing to absentmindedly drink.

Nice! It is a good tea to drink when you can’t pay attention. I think it gives a nice relaxing effect as well.
