The 2018 Brown Sugar is made from a large percentage of huangpian [the largest leaf used in Puer production].
Every Brown Sugar blend we have pressed has been a bit different than the last and the 2018 is no exception. The 2018 batch was blended with the intention of being a light and comfortable daily drinking brick with a sweet core and woodier elements.
The soup is sweet and smooth, with a light and approachable character.
Each brick is 200 grams.

I have productions of Brown Sugar from several different years, but somehow this 2018 tea sample ended up at the bottom of the drawer forgotten about and untasted. I’m glad I rediscovered it though as the liquor is so pleasantly thick and syrupy, with smooth and sweet notes of molasses and raisins to compliment an otherwise brothy and earthy mid sip. Definitely a bit more of a consistent tea session from steep to steep without a lot of fluctuation in tasting notes, but still plenty impactful and that dark, cozy sweetness is so appropriate of the season!
