Next up in my Lapsang Souchong exploration, courtesy of Hachachacha – I went with this one next because it’s one from the monthly sub box that seems to be overall really well received and I was curious. It’s one of the unsmoked ones…
I feel like I maybe experienced some degree of suggestion bias because of the name, but here are my tasting notes from my session: “Good body, top notes are more savory/umami – I got a very fleeting hint of dill and a mild spice (cumin?) note with the initial taste which then subsided into a more sweet honey/malt duo, with a very light and pleasant astringency & hint of oak or cedar wood.”
So far the Smoked is my preferred but I enjoyed this a lot!
