The residual smoke in this tea is overwhelming for me. The mixture is a bit rough. While it’s quite unique, the smoke doesn’t steep out as quickly as you’d think. This probably needs a lot of airing out and some time.
This Anhua Heicha is a light, but sharp tea, which is really nice for cold weather. It will get smoother and change with age, so feel free to store it after sampling. There is a residual smoke from the processing and a very unique fragrance on the leaves. This is our first time to include a tea from Hunan province – a bit of variety is the spice of life and all that.
