From white2tea

The Bang Dong Hong is made from Puer large leaf varietal material, but is processed as Dianhong hongcha [black tea]. Fragrant tea, with a sweet smooth body. Intentionally priced to be a super affordable daily drinker, but nonetheless very high quality tea.

I brewed this gong-fu style with about 5g of leaf and 100C water. The resulting tea was fruity, malty, and dark, with hints of bread, camphor, and burnt sugar.

This was good, but the flavour dropped off quickly after the first few steeps. However, this tea has to contain some of the biggest tea leaves I’ve ever seen! I mean, look at this sucker!

Didn’t remember trying this when I bought it last month. Today it only got steeped western style. It is tasty with a very mild malt character and some sweet notes. It is a bargain for the price, good quality on the cheap.

I steeped this one time in a Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and boiling water for 3 min.

I finished off the rest of what I had from the monthly subscription this morning and now I’m sad. This is such an amazingly delicious and unique black tea. Like a spicy potato tea. I used the remaining 5.5g in my shibo and it was perfect! It also lasted more than the usual 3-4 steeps I get from black teas. Although it’s no longer available, I heard that more might be coming in this autumn, so I will definitely pick some up, maybe with some samples of the other Spring puerh I haven’t yet tried.

Yummy. Every time I drink it it’s like grilled veggies

Yes, it’s so tasty! Now I wish I had already picked up a bunch before it went out of stock. :/

This definitely has that green note to it. Very good, thick and yet puckery at the same time.

White2Tea just announced that this is now back in stock.

Thanks, Christina! I saw! :)
