From white2tea

Reading Room is a high-end blend of several batches of our small batch shou Puer material.

Thick bodied, heavy feeling and complex layered flavor. If it fits your budget and you love shou Puer tea, it’s a must. Plenty of room to improve with age or drink straight away.

Each mini is ~7 grams of tea.

I had a gongfu session with this tea for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised by the texture. It felt thick and silky smooth. There were woody notes with a dark chocolate-like bitterness and a bit of sweetness on later steeps.

Grandpa Style!

I almost skipped over this tea in favour of some of the other new releases, but based on this first taste I’m glad I didn’t! It’s a dense, thick and brothy sort of tea with a lot of tasting notes that feel particularly apt for its namesake. Leather, oak, peat moss, and a big of tobacco smoke. If “dark academia” had a flavour, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was this – especially with how potent the notes of leather are. I can just picture exactly what the reading room inspired by this tea would look like: low lighting, antique wood furniture, and rows upon rows of first edition texts. Definitely sets a particular mood as I’m drinking it, and I’m very much digging it!!
