From white2tea

A peculiar and fun Fujian black tea.

A black tea production made from a mix of oolong varietals (mostly Qilan, but there’s a few others) that are usually destined for a Dahongpao yancha. The result is an interesting black tea with a few hybrid characteristics to keep you intrigued. Flavorful and aromatic with sweetness and spice. Quirky daily black tea that will appeal to a wide range of tea lovers.

I spent yesterday afternoon and evening catching up with a friend and her partner, along with their freakin’ adorable six month old son. Since her partner is very into black teas I brought a handful of ones with me that I knew he hadn’t tried yet – so it was a deliciously black tea filled afternoon!

We made all of them Western style, which is perhaps not the best method for brewing this tea. It still produced a really nice cup though with a smooth medium body and a mix of both waxy red fruits and more jammy red fruit. Red though, is the key tasting note. Lots and lots of fruitiness to go around in this particular cuppa!
