(March 2022 tea club)
The star of the club, we have been hanging on to this raw Puer tea from Yunnan for quite a long time. This maocha (loose tea) was stored in Yunnan in sealed boxes until late 2020, when we pressed this tea into the cakes we alluded to above, which have since been in our Guangzhou storage. This loose tea however has been in Yunnan the whole time. It’s beautiful tea, and sort of rare to have nicely stored maocha from six springs ago, so we are thrilled to have kept some to share with the club. If you like this tea, we encourage you to try the cakes as well, which will have a slightly different character after being pressed and kept in white2tea storage for the last couple of years. It’s thick, excellent returning sweetness (hui gan) and plenty of complex aromas and flavors to experience throughout a focused session. I’ve personally drank many cakes of this already and plan to drink many more.
