From Tops

This is a perennial grass with scented leaves similar to citronella and lemon. Jamaican Lemon Grass/Fever Grass (cymbopogon citratus) is grown in the Dry Harbour Mountains and Cockpit country, hand harvested, solar dried, ground then processed into tea bags. We took years developing this product and trust you will enjoy this taste of Jamaica.

Ingredients: Jamaican Lemon Grass (Fever Grass)

Brewing Instructions

Due to the composition and processing of herbs and spices herbal teas require vigorous stirring to release their flavour and aroma.

1. Pour 1 cup freshly boiled water over 1 tea bag
2. Brew for 4 minutes
3. Stir with a spoon for a stronger brew
4. Sweeten to taste

This tea smells completely different from the dried lemon grass I sometimes get at the supermarket. The dry bagged tea smells incredibly fresh, almost green and slightly floral, with a hint of fresh cut cedar wood. The tea brews to a dark yellow. The flavour is a slightly spicy green fresh taste that lacks the sour taste that dried lemon grass can have. The flavour has a hint of lemon verbena, and the flavour of candied lemon rind. The spice references cinnamon a little in that it is mild and sweet. All together the tea has a fresh clean taste with a hint of lemon.
