From Toad's Coffee & Tea

Hand-rolled “pearl tea” with distinctive oak taste, the leaves “burst” open when infused, delivering a cup of slightly sweet flavor and the pleasing vegetal quality from a superior gunpowder. This green tea gets its name from its unique leaf style, which resembles gunpowder shot. Once the tea is steamed, rolled by hand and dried in open pans over an open flame. When hot water is added it unfurls to reveal whole leaves floating in a clear green liquor, with a fresh, slightly sweet, delicate flavour.

Use a warmed teapot and add one teaspoon of tea per person and an extra ‘one for the pot’. Add water just under the boil and infuse for 2-3 minutes. Serve on its own. You can top the teapot up with more hot water as you enjoy the tea.

Very delicate flavors, not to be steeped too long. Definately a sipping tea, perfect for those evenings with books and candels.
