From Tin Roof Teas

A lot of research has gone into our Oak City Chai. It is our first in-house full leaf chai blend. There were quit a few styles of chai that we could have gone with. Some have a lot of pepper, others have quite a bit of ginger and cinnamon. We decided to go with a chai that was a little more prevalent in cardamom. Hope you enjoy!

Origin: Ceylon

Flavor profile: Spicy and sweet. Heavier on the cardamom but rounded off with ginger and cinnamon, with a bit of heat in the finish.

Ingredients: Ceylon black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, clove, pepper, star anise, chili pepper. Shake bag before each use.

This is one of the more interesting chais I’ve had, in a very good way! The anise is what sets it apart for me, though it could be the combination that highlights the anise note I’m getting. Oak City Chai will become a continued part of my tea cabinet, even better that it’s a house blend from a local tea shop!

Flavors: Anise, Spicy
