The first time I tried this chai, it was a bit lackluster. It definitely needed no less than the suggested 1.5 tsp per 8 oz and probably closer to the high end of the steeping range. I tried it again as a latte using double the suggested amount of tea (so 3 tsp per 8 oz) and a 4 minute steep and it was much better. It has a good amount of spice and was perfectly enhanced by a bit of cinnamon sprinkled over the top. The scent of the tea in the package was heavy on cloves, but that flavor was mellowed out in drinking. The caffeine kick was perfect for a Monday morning, too.

This is a nice chai! It seems to strike the right balance between spicy and sweet: cinnamon and ginger are both present, but neither is overpowering and the cardamom adds a nice depth. The base tea is robust, but not bitter. This is one I could drink plain, but it’s even better with a dash of milk (and I’ll bet it would be lovely as a latte!). I don’t love it quite as much as my all-time favorite Reena’s Chai from TeaSource, but it’s proving to be a good substitute until I’m able to order more of that one.

I need a lil something to put a lil bounce back into my step before going to work. This is a good one to do it with. I probably should have let it steep longer then 3 minutes but it still came out nicely. Just a little light on flavor. If steeped for around 4 – 5 minutes, probably 5, I could see this chair being really nice. There is a nice spiciness to it that I find a good chai should have.
