From TheTea

Origin: Hu Yuan Keng, Zhengyan Protected Area, Wuyishan, Fujian, China.

Vintage: May 2019

Tea Varrietal: Mei Zhan

Age of tea trees: more than 40 year old

Mei Zhan is a quite rare tea cultivar in inner area of Wuyishan. This middle roasted tea is made from old bushes (more than 40 years old) growing in famous Hu Yuan Keng. Leaves are healthy, big and strong and make the most mineral yancha I have tasted during last few years. If you want to see what is famous yancha’s mineral taste called “yan yun” you should definitely brew this Meizhan. The mineral character comes out not only from cultivar character but mainly from a great terroir with volcanic soil and natural farming.

In the taste you will find: forest fruits, cocoa, nuts and some aromatic wood and herbs. Real treat!!!
