Rare and excuisite Nepalese oolong – grown bordering the Darjeeling region. Honey and almond notes with a lingering taste of baked squash. Typical muscatal aromas make this a delightful experience.
Tip: Use 1tsp per 6oz cup; heat fresh water to 90C; steep 2-4 minutes.

Smokiness in the aroma.
Pleasant dairy barn aroma flavour. There is a crispness in the flavour that reminds me of white tea. I’m detecting hints of smokey flavour. There is a sweetness that has a likeness to ginseng. I am getting the baked squash flavour that was mentioned in the description – it’s coming through as an astringent flat taste with a sweet trail that I associate with roasted gourd flesh.
Second infusion at 4 minutes. All flavours are toned down. Gourd flavour in the background. Smokey flavour near the end of the sip and into aftertaste.

I cooled the water down after boiling (who knows to what temperature, I certainly hope it was around 90c) and watched the time, but went by the package instructions which say 3-5 min. I think I was around 4 minutes when I poured it outta my tea master.
The website says 2-4 minutes, so perhaps I will try 2.5 min next time. I have enough for maybe one more cup. This one was not exactly budget friendly.
Anyhow, as alluded to above, it is a much tastier brew this time around. Very smooth, slightly scratchy but perhaps that shorter infusion will fix that… It’s a rather calming tea that demands savouring.
The buttery/slippery honey texture, building on the lightness and super mild nutty base makes me wanna sit back and feel the summer breeze, the sun, and listen to the birds. Don’t try this one at work folks!
Now… Would I buy this again? Yes, I think so- but it’s not a must have at that price. I have a feeling though, that if I had more of this leaf, it’d grow on me.

Darjeeling influences (it is from the region without a doubt). Almost the best of both worlds, oolong and Darjeeling. I would say it is lighter on the oolong side but a very good cup of tea. I will be considering this in the future. Thanks Indigobloom! Your samples have given light to some dreary January days of late…
I wasn’t into darjeeling until not long ago. I think I need to try this again with my new perspective!!
I didn’t let it steep very long, more like an oolong than a Darjeeling in terms of time.
That may make a difference, shorter steeps.

Oh yes. I love the smell of a dairy barn and I love just the right amount of the taste-aroma in my tea. I’m sure that there must be a better way to describe this flavour but I haven’t learned it yet.
