From Tetley

One of our best selling teas, this robust, full-bodied blend of some of the world’s finest teas combined to create this hearty tea. Tea bags contain 25% more tea than standard tea bags (2.5 grams vs. 2.0 grams). Soft and porous Perflo tissue is used in our round, stringless tea bags for faster infusion and better flavor release.

At first I did not like this tea due to over brewing it. Kept trying it and is one of my favorite morning teas. This tea to me has to be made in one certain mug to taste just right. Steeping time depends usually a minute up to two for making it hot or if making a big batch seven minutes only.

Tetley British Blend is the classic “Builders Teas”. They have commercials from the 80’s about the bag shape and all the perforations. To be honest, if you’re looking for a good, strong tea to get you going, this tea is one of the classics. When I was over in England for Christmas, this tea was in the house. Sadly, the house flooded when I was there. But, to keep me company in the days I had ahead with all the cleanup, Tetley British Blend was my companion. It’s a cheap, good tea and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good “Builders Tea”.

Never a bad tea, and never a great tea. This tea is fairly sweet -even more-so with milk and sugar, which is my favored way of having my tea. It is light and occasionally slightly astringent. My big problem with this seems to be that Tetly is very inconsistent with this blend-I’ve had some boxes that were fairly strong (love) and some boxes that seemed pretty week (not so much love).

My favorite version of this tea: decaf. It’s my late night tea; best with milk and sugar and a good book. Side note: my family has found that using several of these tea bags makes some of the best decaf iced tea when paired with some bags of decaf green tea.

Fine for mornings when I hardly taste the first cup. Better with milk and sugar.

I keep a stock of this in the office, and brew 2 cups every afternoon at 2pm. I used to drink PG Tips or Typhoo regularly, but they are both so costly in the states. Very good cuppa!

Let it steep for about 3 minutes and add a teaspoon of sugar and milk. Suggested to me by a British family who enjoys a good hot tea.

I used to drink Lipton. Oh how young and naive I was back then. Little did I know, there was a stronger, more delicious gem of a tea bag out there until I was introduced to Tetley British Blend. One sip of this, and you will never want to go back to any other black tea. The introduction of Tetley tea filled the Tetley teabag shaped hole in my heart. I typically take my black teas with little sugar, lots of milk—but not so much that I’m essentially drinking milk. Take it with evaporated milk, and 1/2 a teaspoon to a teaspoon of brown sugar. Mmmm, de-lish!
