The scent is fairly subtle, half grassy and half freeze-dried strawberry. The tea itself is rolled oolong; I tend to find the leafy kind more soothing – all that rolling-out action reminds me of Alien, but I digress.
The tea tastes of… tea. Not displeasing, but completely anonymous. It leaves me with no lasting impression at all and no distinct notes to pick out.

Leave it to Teavana to not know the difference between oolong and roasted yerba mate. Finding details on this one are difficult. It looks like it was only available in a set of other teas. Looking at the blend it looks mostly like roasted yerba mate, calendula petals, rooibos and some sort of larger cocoa nib. That is the flavor as well (with little to no strawberry). I’m tasting mostly the barbeque flavor from the yerba mate, with woodiness from the rooibos. Hints of chocolate. It seems more like a chocolate yerba mate than a strawberry oolong. Not bad but nothing special.
I’ve had this tea in the cupboard for awhile only because I’ve gotten so many new teas that this was sort of pushed to the back.I enjoy this tea but as other say it’s not particularly memorable. I will drink what I have of it but won’t miss it when it’s gone because there are lots of similar teas out there. This is a good cuppa but I can see why it got pushed to the back of the cupboard. Nothing new or special.

Unfortunately, I’m not actually getting much in the way of strawberry flavour from it. It’s definitely flavoured with something, but I’m not sure I think it’s strawberry as such.
It’s pleasant, though. I like that it’s on a green type oolong. I think it works better than if it had been a darker one, in spite of the fact that I generally prefer the darker ones.
However, it’s not really a tea that shines. It’s good but also quite forgettable.
