From Teavana

A Japanese twist on the lemonade stand, this pale hibiscus pink blush is ripened to perfection with heart notes of citrus combined with sweet ginger. Ice cubes make this a cool refreshing lemon-ginger green tea summer treat.

A delicious blend of orange and lemon citrus with hints of ginger. (Above by CHAroma)

Ingredients from the label: Green tea, apple pieces, citrus pieces, ginger, hibiscus flowers, flavoring, orange juice bits. (By SJBP)

Tried this one hot again. I’m still not sold. I think it really is better iced. I’ll save it for warmer weather. Drinking it hot reminds me of Theraflu. Not hating on Theraflu, but that’s not what I want to drink when I’m aiming for tea. ;)

Finally brewing up some of this tea. Ran out of the Blackberry Mojito tea my husband loves iced, so tried this iced for him, and made a cup hot for myself. It isn’t a potent green tea, but with two teaspoons for 10oz water steeped at 170ish for 3 minutes it is tasty. The citrus is more along the lines of a tart grapefruit flavor and citrus peel. This is smooth, mellow and was a great choice after our filling dinner. I am happy to have another option as far as flavored greens go.

This tea smells exactly like it tastes, sour. If you don’t enjoy a tart tea then this isn’t for you. I almost always enjoy citrus drinks but even I need to be in a certain mood to enjoy this tea. With added sugar it becomes a nice warm the, with the right amount of zest, on a hot summer day.

I can’t help but feel that this tea is trying to be something amazing, but fails. Maybe it should take lessons from The Tea Haus’s Lime Fizz or even the similar version from Tealish. The ginger is here, but the rest of the flavours are subpar, and even the ginger doesn’t have the pop the other two flavours do. I can see why this one got discontinued.

I ran into Teavana today because I am coming down with a cold. Fabulous, just before I start working full time. So i asked my friend which one I should have. She recommended this one, hot with some honey. It smells nicely citrusey.
Once ready its nicely citrusy with a huge hit f ginger. I’m not a major fan of ginger in yeas, but this works. It was nice and soothing as i sipped it, it could have used a little less honey. I also brought home 50g of it, I think this would be a pretty good iced tea.

So I tried this today because I really wanted a green tea, and I have a whole tin of green tea at home so I thought it’d be best to try a flavoured green for something different.

This one interested me because it wasn’t super berry-y. The citrus was compelling and the leaves smelled really nice.

Oops! Didn’t actually read the ingredients. Not expected ginger!

Conclusion: I’m really not a fan of ginger in my tea. It really overpowered everything else in this one too. Two sips and I tossed it.

I understand that if you don;t like ginger its a no go, but I enjoyed this at work iced paired with one of the straight greens, usually adding gyo in the last 30 secs. Not enough to ever buy it and have at home though.

I can’t see myself even mixing this with another tea, especially Gyokuro, it would just ruin the Gyokuro! I should probably just stick to fruitier blends if I ever want to mix. @Autumn Aelwyd

Jinjaa Citrus Twist / Sencha

Trying to use up my Sencha (too vegetal for me)….I would much prefer my “Dragonwell” ..One of my favorites next to “Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls”!!

If you really like sweeter green teas, like dragon well, try teavana’s “emperor’s clouds and mist”. It’s my favourite green tea right now. It’s sweet (if not over-steeped) and ‘misty’ tasting, rather than nutty. Lovely.

This tea is exactly why I write about and rate teas objectively.

You can really taste the hibiscus flowers in this and not the green tea. I like sour flavors and I like citrus flavors, but this tea hit a sour note. There really is very little green tea in the envelope that I bought.

The ingredients from the tea envelope label are: Green tea, apple pieces, citrus pieces, ginger, hibiscus flowers, flavoring, orange juice bits. I don’t taste the ginger at all, and would really like to know if the flavoring is natural or artificial.

Ok so this is probably my least favorite tea. I haven’t had a ton of variety, because I usually stick with what I like. This tea is too tart. It smells refreshing out of the tin and after it’s steeped. I just added more honey to combat the super tart flavor to no avail. I will not buy this again. I will be able to finish the tin off though as it’s doable. I steep 2 tsp in 16 oz. water for 2 minutes with honey.
