Thanks for this one, Stephanie! I was a little hesitant about this one, as it has mushrooms in it (the chaga). I’m not a fan of mushrooms! But the sweet scent of the dry leaves seemed unintimidating enough, so I just went with it and brewed up two teaspoons. I’m always worried there will be something I’m allergic to in tea that I was previously unaware of, but this blend worked for me! If anything, the mushrooms might not be noticeable other than making it seem like a ripened pu-erh. Otherwise, this dark brew tastes like a rustic, nutty cup of dark chocolate and milk chocolate. Somehow both milk and dark chocolate at the same time and all around sweet. I walked away from the second steep and it went for ten minutes. Didn’t get bitter at all, even though there is a deep flavor in the first cup. I’d probably prefer the second steep like that, actually. Delicious!
Steep #1 // 2 teaspoons for a full mug// 10 minutes after boiling // 3 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // 10 minute steep
Glad you liked it. I couldn’t stand the stuff myself. The lady who blends those teas was very nice though!
I expected the mushrooms to make it a worse blend but was pleasantly surprised. :D
