A rare find and produced in very small quantities. Jun Shan Yin Zhen Yellow Tea has been honored as the king of Yellow teas and one of Chinas Ten Famous Tea. Jun Shan Yin Zhen is a rare tea consists of only singular tender buds picked in Spring before they open and is prepared according to an ancient fermentation technique.
This Tribute Tea grows on a small island (Jun Shan) within Dong Ting Lake in Hunan Province. The local climate and soil create a special sweet fruit aroma and lightly sugarcane taste. The small growing area and skill required to make this traditional tea results in only a small quantity produced yearly. Tea drinkers should be aware that much of the Jun Shan Yin Zhen on the market is actually processed as green tea. It is also common for tea producers to cultivate from tea bushes brought in from other provinces. Our Jun Shan Yin Zhen is processed using the traditional yellow tea techniques, which takes at least 72 hours. In addition, only the local Qun Ti Zhong bush is used so you can appreciate the true quality of this exclusive yellow tea.

This tea has an aroma that fills up the air and it’s kind of that funky ‘left around in the house wet green tea’ smell. The best part of this tea is that mouth feel that lingers for about 7-8 seconds and then fades after the last sip taken. Teas that give me a feeling, whether it be mental or physical, always makes me happy. The taste is like 25% dragonwell, 40% unique, 15% wild earth, and 20% random perception.; if that makes sense…
I’ve had two yellow teas of the same shape/color and they tasted like green tea left in a sock of mine from 1999 only to be brought out and steeped. This tea is not like that which brings me a lot of relief.
