How do you even brew this??? So many different things in one tea!

My Friend Rashad

I used a french press.

My Friend Rashad

I just treat it like any Yerba Mate.

Not a favourite. I remember the first time I tried this a few months back, it tasted quite bland. Tonight, I got a lot of licorice in the aftertaste.

Not for me.

thank you so much to scribbles for this one!

puerh is a not-so-secret favourite of mine. i love it when tea companies add ingredients and compliment the puerh fermentation technique.

the ingredients of this puerh sound excellent— who doesn’t like saffron, vanilla, cinnamon and cloves? BUT sadly, i don’t taste most of them! i had expected warmth from spice, a vanilla undertone, nuttiness from the puerh… the blend isn’t balanced and so the exceptional ingredients are convoluted: like a paint box where all the colours got mixed together and none of them clear. for the most part i got cinnamon and cardamom.

it isn’t a bad tea, so much as not meeting up to its own standards.

There are so many different teas and ingredients in this tea I wasn’t sure what to expect. It had so good reviews so I gave it a try. I found it had a very rich body like coffee and was very dark. That must have been from the pu’erh. It had a subtle spicy favour which was fine with me as I don’t like the spices overdone.

This came as a surprise for me. You’d expect the multiple varieties of tea being chaotic but it all fits in quite well, with the pu’ehr slightly dominating with its typical earthy notes followed by the spices giving it a bit of a chai feeling, which I really like. Very nice on cold winter days.
