From Tealirious Tea Shoppe

Golden Needle Premium Black Tea, or Jin Jian Mei, is a rare tea from Yunnan province of China. It is made from Da Bai (Big White) cultivar, that is used for Silver Needle white tea production, but undergoes full oxidation. This tea comes from a high-altitude tea garden, just over 1800 m (6000 ft). The distinct, needle-like shape makes it stand out among other black teas. When infused, it makes a highly aromatic tea, with a rich flavour full of citrusy notes that leaves prune aftertaste.

The shape of the dried tips is similar to pine needles, something you don’t see in other black teas. It requires a special craftsmanship to keep this natural shape of the leaves during processing. The liquor has bright red colour, although in direct sunlight it looks almost amber. The tea emits a delightful scent that evokes the sweet aroma of prunes, toasted nuts, and spices.
