From TeaFrog

Pai Mu Tan is an elegant white tea produced from buds and leaves picked early in spring, just before they open. The leaves are from a special variety of bush called Narcissus, or Chicha bushes. What makes this tea so special is that the leaves are not fermented or rolled, but instead are naturally dried. Only the first two leaves and the bud are picked, which have the highest concentration of antioxidants, which is what makes white tea the healthiest of all teas.

Recent studies have shown that in addition to the anti-cancer properties of white tea, it also has a calming and detoxifying effect on the skin. White tea has almost three times as many antioxidant polyphenols as green or black tea. It has also shown to be 100 times more effective in cleaning up free radicals that cause skin to sag. With anti-cancer properties, and anti wrinkle properties, the velvety smooth taste is a bonus to this extraordinary tea.

The steeping suggestions are hotter, shorter, and less leaf than I’d choose- but here it goes.

The liquor is a light golden color almost like a white wine (which I love) and the aroma is light and sweet.

The flavor is exactly what I’d expect from the aroma with almost honey and fruit like notes. The mouth feel is a bit thicker than plain water, but not something I’d label as thick. A wonderful, light, smooth cuppa!
