Not bad. I got these during a swap from another site. It is nice, solid, and smooth. The flavor is mild and not very intense. The bag it comes in is pretty; although, I’m not a huge fan of teabags. I didn’t use any sugar or milk as this tea didn’t need it at all. It wasn’t sweet though, but it wasn’t bitter at all either. Nice tea.

Back-logged from this morning.

I’m not a big fan of black teas needless to say, but this was in a sampler pack I had received and gave it a go. To my surprise this wasn’t too bad. It’s pretty fruity without being tart. I could taste the black tea, but the black currant was strong enough that it made it pleasant for me.

It’s hard to find a good fruit tea that’s not so tart it makes your tongue wrinkle! I like this one, too.

I really enjoy this. The black tea is strong enough and pulls through over the fruit. It isn’t too bitter, a tad sharp/tart but that is fine. Having rarely ever had anything black currant-y I don’t know how black currant-y this tea tastes but whatever it is it tastes fine to me.

I’m not sure that I could identify what a black currant tastes like. Fairly certain, I’ve only had currants dried in hot cross buns. This tea is pretty good though. It has a nice medium brown color when steeped. No strong fragrance detected. It is sweet and fruity and smooth. I may have to seek out more teas labeled as Black Currant.

I drink this tea whenever I crave a black currant juice drink, just to avoid all that unhealthy sugar.
Very nice alternative. I like.

The 2nd sampling from the Tea Forte collection box.

The first reaction is Damn, it’s a good thing I like blackberries, the aroma is almost overwhelming with them. It is a reallly good aroma. Aside from the strong blackberry smell, there is also a hint of nuts and a bit of spice feel. You have to really search to find them.

The taste is all fruit. The blackberries take over, hiding everything else, even the underlying black tea base. I would love to have more balance in this case. After all, if I wanted hot blackberry juice, I would have that. I like black tea, and there just isn’t even a hint of it here.

Other than the balance, this is a damn good tea. The blackberry taste is smooth, soothing and super yummy. Probably a great afternoon tea, maybe during a rainstorm with a book open. Good stuff.
