Back to this happy place, ahhhh! It’s been a while.

I was completely sucked in by a store tasting and bought this with the intention only to use iced as an alternative to sugary drinks in summer. It is wonderful iced and really perfect on a hot day.

I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed it hot too. The flavourings don’t overpower the green tea flavour but compliment it instead. In the end I used most of my packet drinking it hot rather than cold. I’ll definitely repurchase it again but not until the weather down here warms up again. Even as a hot drink it is has the taste of summer.

It certainly brings you to a tropical location, but the coconut and pineapple flavour isn’t too over powering or too sweet… its perfect because you get the essence of the tropics with the smooth and refreshing sencha. A perfect combination!

I was almost done with this 100g packet/box from T2 [have a bunch more in my stash I’m sure] but have been slim on official sip downs for December (will + a bunch of “XP” to this month after TTBs and gifting etc). I strongly leaved two hot/plain cuppas in a row, because why not drink a tropical fruity tea (pineapple/coconut + green) hot. I drink what I feel like, even if weird, so this was what I felt like. (and it would have been too much work at the office to use the 3 PS or so as one iced tea). It did the job but probably should have made the effort to make one iced tea because I over leafed both cuppas (made one, drank then repeat) and didn’t drink fast enough either time so they were just like a lukewarm/cooler cup anyway.

I love DT Nordic Mug in size since I like to drink big mugs of tea. I am not always a big fan of the color changing because I need things to be versatile like if I need to microwave or something. But I think this one was from my days of DT casual/super part time employee, because I don’t think I have the lid for this one. I brought it in from home a week or so ago because for past year or so I have been using one holiday themed glitter glass Nordic mug at my desk and I have 432854205842549 mugs so might as well get on board and not just hoard.

Thanks to a new to me tea group on FB, I was sent a bunch of green tea samples from T2. I randomly picked this one out of the package. It was a great start! I truly wish I had more to try as an iced tea. I tried it per directions at 175 degrees steeped for 3 minutes.

Found it to be pretty well balanced and would put this up there with one of my favorite pineapple flavor teas.

Green March! Spent most of my evening playing with my Kabusecha Saeakari Shaded Green Tea from Marushige Shimizu Tea Farm that I got from Yunomi — I’m mainly trying to find a preferred “casual” brewing method for it that I can use at work when I don’t have tea scales and an easy way to get the water cool enough, etc. Definitely had some failed cups (too astringent, too light, etc.) but I’ll keep working at it; I know the right combo is in there somewhere! Right now I have a cold brew set to steep overnight, since I’m curious about it’s iced tea potential. (Bringing an iced thermos to work may be the way to go for that tea if all else fails!)

While I was doing all that playing around in the kitchen, I fixed up my sampler-size serving of Geisha Getaway from T2 as a cold brew in the fridge. Now that it’s ready and strained, I’m excited to have this sipdown; it smells great!

I have to say, of the pineapple green teas I’ve tried so far this month, I think this has been my favorite so far, thanks to the coconut notes! This has a really refreshing, sweet, pina colada flavor. The pineapple flavor is noticable but a bit lighter (and personally, I prefer my fruity greens to not be too overbearing), and this allows the coconut notes to really shine, leaving a lovely sweet coconut taste on the tongue right in the finish. I can actually make out some very light, delicate grassy notes of the green tea beneath the pineapple and coconut. The pina colada notes are very complimenting, and the iced tea is very refreshing.

The pina colada combo is an easy win for me, and I like that the flavor isn’t too overbearing, so I’d say Geisha Getaway is my top pineapple-flavored green I sampled this month, followed by Pineapple Sorbet by Bluebird Tea Co., which had a nice pineapple-citrus combo, and finally Pineapple Paradise by Fusion Tea, which had a very strong pineapple flavor, which I felt overpowered the mango notes that were supposed to be present in the tea. If I have any more pineapple greens hiding in the ol’ sampler drawer I’ll have to update, hahaha!

Ethics tea has a strong coconut smell, very sweet and mellow. My little boy said it smelled like chocolate, maybe meaning a bounty bar!

It tastes of coconut and then green tea with a hint of something sharp and refreshing (maybe the pineapple but to me it tastes more like a hint of melon. It’s nice and light, something you could drink after a big meal.

It definitely made me think of a tropical island and wasn’t over caffeinated.

This was my very first T2 tea! And I still absolutely love it- the unique coconut/pineapple combo is luxurious and balmy, all blended with the goodness of green tea leaves! Beautiful tea, great taste- a classic.

My favorite T2 tea. Tastes even better if you drop a strong menthol and aniseed fishermans friend in the pot!
