Origin: Fully handcrafted cliff tea from Zhu Ke Yan, Wuyi Mountains, China.
Tasting Notes: Dried prune, orchid, brown sugar
Harvest season: Spring 2013
This true cliff Da Hong Pao uses the Qidan cultivar that is the SECOND generation from the mother trees. The age on this cliff tea has mellowed the roast into a milky, minerally, and floral tea. An orchid freshness sways at the end of this robust with darker, unsweetened brownie notes. More elegant than younger, more pronounced teas, the tastes linger for a long time, making it enjoyable long after one finishes a cup. And the traditional roasting is warming from the core, perfect to drink as the weather gets colder.
