This tea is still good when steeped incorrectly.
I got this tea as part of my Fine Tea sampler from SpecialTeas. The label on the bag said it was a black tea to be steeped at a boil for three minutes. But I knew that was wierd even before I opened the bag. All the other little pouches seemed about half full with their 1 oz of tea. This was completely full of tea. And opening it, it seemed very… fluffy.
But I followed the directions and got some decent tea but it was REALLY light.
Then, thinking something was just wierd I checked the site. Oh hey look! It’s a green tea, to be brewed at 170, not boiling.
Facepalm.
But, the last cuppa wasn’t bad. This new cuppa on the second steep is better, and feels more right, but it’s nice to know this is a forgiving tea.
I’ll review and rate the tea as it’s meant to be enjoyed later. Right now I have to update my label on my jar!
You should let them know it was mislabeled.
Just did. Thanks for the reminder.
Let us know what they said… I’d be interested in their reaction to a mistake like that.
Quick answer – it was “Thank you for letting me know! I will let our labelers know. Have a wonderful day.”
Quick and kind answer- I like that:)
