This tea offers a taste of one of the most unique tea tree cultivars: Zi Juan or “Purple Beauty.” This tea plant strain was selectively bred from ancient Irrawaddy sinensis plants growing in Burma and western Yunnan. Purple Beauty has reddish purple leaves that are high in anthocyanin, a purple pigment and antioxidant found in red and blue fruits like blueberries, blackcurrant, Concord grapes, and bilberries. Yunnan Purple Buds is one of the most popular teas in Asia this year, being widely celebrated as a health tea with beneficial antioxidants.

Personally, I think the bouquet makes it a poor candidate for milk, so I’d drink this straight.
