In the Nilgiri District of Central India, the Blue Mountains are the home of the Burnside Estate Tea Farm. Every January, after the first frost of the year coats the young buds, this estate harvests the pekoe leaves and creates several varieties of tea from them, including this outstanding extra long wirey oolong. By combining mountain elevations, which encourages the trees to draw nutrients from the soil, an early harvest, which encourages lightness and clarity in the brew, and then by twisting the oolong tea leaves into stretched out “wires,” Burnside has created a loose leaf tea that can boast incredible body and intensity, while keeping astringency to a minimum. Sweeter than any other oolong, this Burnside Estate leaf will provide you with some of the strongest expressions of pure tea flavor that you will ever find!
Steeping instructions:
Amount of water: 6 oz
Amount of Tea: 1 Flat teaspoon
Water Temperature: 190° F
Steeping Time: 1-8 minutes.

I’m enjoying this. The main flavors that present themselves are a combination of sweet and sour, reminiscent of a slightly under-ripe plum with notes of peach and apricot in the background. There are notes of wood, earth and flower in there too, in the distance. Really quite pleasant, what I’m liking best is that it is such a different tasting Oolong. I love the other Oolong teas too, but, it’s nice to come across something a little different once in a while!

I am not sure this is my cup of tea.
Its naturally sweet and has a nice body of flavor but it just has a flavor that is not hitting me right today.
Its a little sour tasting but not bitter or astringent at all – a little like something that sat out on the counter for too long.
I’m going to have to agree with Azzrian on this one. I wanted to try this as another oonlong to see if there is that consitent taste across oolongs that I’m not a fan of. it’s there in this oolong as well, so i suspect either I’m steeping most oolongs incorrectly OR, I’m just not a fan of oolongs :)
