A great classic tea, our Darjeeling is produced in a small estate at the foot of the Himalayas. Soft and flowery, it can be appreciated at any time of the day.

The description is spot on with this one – soft and fruity. The wet leaf looks more like green tea than a black. This has no bitterness or sharp bite. There is only a light drying compared to the bagged versions I’ve tried. The aftertaste is pleasant, cooling, and lasting. I don’t know enough about Darjeeling to comment a lot on the taste. I can say I enjoyed this quite a bit and it went great with sausage gravy.

Well… I can taste the muscatel here, and it’s a fairly light black… but eh. I’m not particularly fond of it. I did like the very light moonlight darjeeling I had from Butiki, but I don’t think that darjeelings would fall into the category of teas I like to drink. Just not a flavour profile I care for.
There’s only a bit of astringency, which at least makes this pleasant to drink. I’m sure a darjeeling fan would enjoy this far more than I!
Finished off the sample today – thanks to Nina’s Teas for it! Today, the dry leaves have a pleasantly flowery smell. I really shouldn’t have black tea because it hurts me, so I brewed the tea fairly light – 1 tsp for 8 oz at approx. 180 degrees for 3 mins 15 secs. Tasty! Mildly astringent, with a touch of citrus – lemon, maybe? I’m not great at evaluating black teas (what with the fact that I rarely drink them), but this is nice. Glad to have tried it.
