From Moychay

«Zheng Shan Sou Mei» («Eyebrows of Longevity») is the white tea pressed from raw materials collected in the Taimushan Mountains (Fudin County, Fujian Province) by the order of Moychai.ru.

290-g teacake of medium density, easily stratified into flat, brown leaves with thin cuttings. The aroma is intense, wood-balsamic. The infusion is transparent, with a grape yellow shade.

The bouquet of the ready-made tea is complex, woody-balsamic with notes of oak moss, ripe leaves, cognac, creamy caramel and berries. The aroma is low, balsamic. The taste is multi-faceted, reveals gradually, changing from spicy, dry and slightly harsh at first to juicy, oily and sweet, with fine berry acidity.

An odd tea. The wet leaves smelled so sour and chemical I worried something was wrong with it, but the brewed tea is perfectly nice. I leafed it pretty hard so maybe that’s exaggerating the strange aspects. The liquid is sticky and both very sweet and very sour, like cotton candy dipped in balsamic vinegar, with a refreshing floral aftertaste. I wouldn’t drink it every day but it’s a fun change of pace.
