Advent Day 14

I was so excited thinking this was a black tea at first, but it’s not. It’s white and I steeped it at black temps. I thought it was going to be minty based on the large amount of little green flakes, but this is not minty at all. It’s fruity. Was I seeing mate instead of mint? It kind of makes me think of a light Marco Polo. It doesn’t have the depth of MP and the strawberry flavor is weaker and more airy with something else in it. I tried looking it up on MF’s website, but can’t find it. I find a Rhapsody collection and several teas with Opera in them, but not the two together. I know it exists! I feel a little gaslit by a tea company! LOL!

Mariage Frères Advent 2021 – Day 14

There are a few “rhapsody teas” on MF’s website, but none are the two they chose to include in their advent. Are these failed rhapsodies? It’s a mystery. And a pain to add to the database. Also, the tea steeps up red-orange and I seriously don’t know what they are going for here.

Initially, I was of the mind that I enjoyed the flavouring (tastes like: MF fruits, vanilla = good), but didn’t care for the subpar (flat) white tea base (tastes like: paper = bad). It expanded a bit after some cooling time though. The second steep wasn’t bad either!

I’ve been going crazy trying to find any evidence that this tea exists outside of the advent universe!

Hahaha, failed rhapsodies…
