From Mariage Frères

MF No. T4277
Green tea, Japan.

The taste of nostalgia.

Grown on the island of Kyushu, this tea is unique in being processed according to the Chinese method–the freshly plucked leaves are ‘roasted’ (dry heat) rather than ‘sweated’ (steam) in the usual Japanese manner.

Highly appreciated by connoisseurs, its pale yellow liquor has a taste that remains long in the mouth.

A rare tea for those rare occasions.

How to prepare this green tea:

Measure out 5 g of tea for 20 cl of pure, filtered water

Bring the water to a simmer (about 70° C) and let the tea infuse for 3 minutes.

This is great. I don’t often drink green teas and generally don’t like them nearly as much as Assams, especially. This is a top-notch tea and one of the best I’ve ever had. I got several infusions from it. The second was still lovely but the following three were not as spectacular.
