From M&K's Tea Company

NGREDIENTS: HUANGSHAN MAOFENG GREEN TEA, GUNPOWDER GREEN TEA, HONEY-ROASTED LICORICE ROOT (LICORICE ROOT, HONEY), HONEY-ROASTED ORANGE PEEL (ORANGE PEEL, HONEY), HIBISCUS, RASPBERRY LEAF, LIME PEEL, LEMON PEEL, RASPBERRIES, RASPBERRY EXTRACT.

DESCRIPTION:
M&K’s own unique blend! We take Chinese green teas, blend them wih three citrus fruits, licorice root roasted in honey, and actual raspberries! Not too fruity, not too simple, it’s a perfect blend of green tea and fruit. We use local honey from California beekeepers and local California orange peel.

CAN I STEEP IT MORE THAN ONCE?:
Definitely! Green teas are excellent for resteeping multiple times. Try steeping each subsequent infusion a little longer each time to extract a different flavor.

HOW MUCH CAFFEINE IS IN IT?
This tea has a MEDIUM amount of caffeine. Keep in mind, a longer steep time and a higher temperature will result in a larger caffeine transfer.

This sounded quite nice. The tea had a hint of sweetness from the “honey” in the blend. A few of the ingredients were “honey roasted” and I think that brought it about. I didn’t taste any licorice root (thankfully), but a nice lemon & raspberry warmth. I thought the green tea provided a nice, faintly grassy, backbone. I’d like to pick up another sample of this one, but with M & K’s M.I.A. I don’t know that that would be possible.

Tea 8/11 of the tea I got from M&K’s etsy shop. I got a green tea sampler pack (10 teas) + they threw in one sample which was also a green tea :). Each of the samples I got were enough for 2-3 “servings” of tea.

This was the freebie that they threw in for no additional cost. To be honest though I was skeptical of this tea from the beginning. I don’t drink fruity green teas nor sweetended green teas and this one claims to have honey in it. I steeped half the sample in 10 oz of 175 degree F water for 2 min. When I pulled the basket out of my cup I was surprised to see it had turned pinkish red. I didn’t realize this tea had hibiscus in it.

I took a sip when the tea was hot and there was a roasted flavour of green tea followed by hibiscus tartness. Doesn’t really work as a hot tea in my opinion- the green tea is masked by the other flavours. I let it cool off in the fridge and took a sip but ironically I don’t really likem it as an iced tea either -it’s not fruity enough (plus I don’t like caffiene in my iced teas).

The rest of this sample well get thrown in my next pitcher of iced tea just to use it up, but it’s not a repurchase for me.
