From LuxBerry Tea

According to the 1948 Newark News, candy apples were invented by a New York candy-maker by the name of William W Kolb. William was experimenting one day with new ideas for the Christmas season and decided to dip a whole apple into melted cinnamon heart candy. He put the display in his window and sold the first batch for 5 cents each. Soon after, the craze began! Candy apples can now be found all over the world at town fairs, the circus and confectionery shops.

Green honeybush, green rooibos, apple bits, raisins, flavoring, hazelnut bits.

I went for a float in a sensory deprivation tank today, and was served this tea afterwards. It was quite light, sweet and fruity, with a hint of tartness, and a bit creamy. Quite nice.

The float was really quite neat. You’re in a pod with a few inches of body temp water and 1000lbs of salt dissolved in it. You can have light and music or dark and silent – I opted for dark and silent. The water keeps your body very buoyant and the space is very quiet. All I could hear was my heartbeat, my stomach and the occasional splash when I moved.

I was a bit too distracted with thoughts and noticing my body – I’m a bit hyper-sensitive and aware of things like itches, and my neck has been bothering me, so I noticed this stuff a lot. But a few times I did hit that kind of dreamy, half asleep half awake zone that’s so lovely and meditative. But it was pleasant, and when I got out I actually felt taller and my posture felt so much better.

All in all a really lovely experience – the staff, the spa, the float itself. I’m looking forward to going back and trying it with some soothing spa music to hopefully help quiet my thoughts.

Flavors: Creamy, Fruity, Sweet, Tart

Interesting. Groupon keeps showing me a float tank coupon. Maybe I’ll take them up on it.

OMG I keep trying to talk my sister into floating. I’m glad it was enjoyable!

I went here, but there are probably float places in Toronto too http://jellyfishfloatspa.com/

One of my friends here loves to float, and speaks of it with such glowing terms. :) I’m glad you had a great experience!

Sil

VariaTEA

Sil, the place on the Danforth does couples floating. I tried to convince my sister to do it with me so we could be like otters and she said no

Sil

I have done this once at a spa here in KC. It was interesting. I have trouble relaxing at the best of times so I never quite hit the zone since it was so unusual to me. But I think if I were able to make it a regular thing it would be quite spacey. :)

Lindsay

Whoa, cool. :)
