Description

This delicate first-flush tea fresh in from the 2013 harvest comes from the revered Ging Tea Estate which is located high up in the misty hills of Darjeeling. The entire estate has been certified as bio-organic and produces a range of teas throughout the seasons.

These leaves were carefully hand-selected early on in the 2013 first-flush tea harvest meaning that when brewed it has a very light and youthful taste and is packed full of antioxidants. There are notes of youthful green, mist and of course that characteristic Darjeeling taste which the region is famous for. This tea sums up the very best of what the early spring teas in Darjeeling have to offer and all at a fantastic price.

When tasting any tea I always like to try to sum it up in three words and for this 2013 first flush tea from the Ging Estate I choose: delicately-spiced and youthful.

The smell out of the packet is divine. It falls short of full marks on the visual appearance but more than makes up for it in every other way. A characterful young Darjeeling I would happily drink all year round.
