From Little Red Cup Tea Co.

The closest herbal tea to actual tea would have to be Camellia Flowers, the flowers of the tea plant itself. Although the infusion of tea flowers is nothing like the taste of any tea, the brew has a certain robust edge that calls to mind the rolling hills and terraces of tea gardens from southern China.

Organically raised, the tea flowers are a unique entry into the herbal panoply, and bring with them the barest trace of caffeine (one half of one percent by weight — even less when brewed than any decaffeinated tea) as well as the bracing flavor of sunlit slopes from the tranquil hills of Jiangxi.

We fell in love with this tea the first time we tried it, and are pleased to add it to our offerings. It’s the tea we drink right before bedtime because we can and it’s the tea we reach for in the afternoon just because it’s so good. If you like herbals teas such as camomile and chrysanthemum, this is a tea you’ll want to have on hand.

I had to drink this because Sil posted about it.

Thanks for the sample, Sil!

I stuffed ALL OF IT into a DavidsTea paper tea bag, and steeped 5 minutes. Haha. It tastes kinda like white tea, kinda like green tea. Spinach. Green. Paper (whoops).

I don’t think it’s terrible, but it’s not for me.

Thank you for letting me try it, Sil! :)

Sil

haha yeah it’s unique…

last tea of the evening and i have to say that i bought this one in part because it was a large amount for a reasonable price (even as a sample size) but also because i was curious as to what the flowers would taste like. Mostly i just wanted to try an interesting, different experience. Sadly i was very distracted when i had this, and all i can really say is that it’s more like a white/green sort of tea but i DID drink it all up, relatively quickly heh more to come when i try it again!

Final Count: 72 YES! mwahahaha sipdown count for 2014 achieved… not that i’ll be making it to my next goal unless i decide to do 5 teas over 2 month periods…since i’m going to keep pushing for 50 teas heh
