From Kappy's Tea & Coffee

Welcome to South America Adventurers!

Lapacho (or Taheebo) is a stunning South American tree, with an amazing canopy of bright purple-pink flowers. Steeped in medicinal folklore, the inner bark of the Lapacho tree was used by the Incas for thousands of years.

It makes a unique earthy, nutty tea with hints of vanilla and caramel, which is naturally low in caffeine and more earthy than bitter, due to its low tannins.

Brew 1 tsp per cup with water straight off the boil at around 100°C, serve it as is.

This sample’s gone the way of my feelings toward guayusa—I think I was a little blinded by the excitement of trying something I hadn’t tried before and that made me biased toward it. The caramel and vanilla flavours aren’t enough to overpower that other, less favourable flavour for me, so while it was a real treat to try this, I won’t return to it.
