Sipdown (2382)!

Since I spent a lot of today just hanging out around the house and catching up on comic books, I thought it was a good day to do my weekly “teas I drink in a day” round up on IG. I decided to take it a step further and make it even more themed by dubbing the day “Sipdown Saturday” and challenging myself to only drink teas I’d be finishing off…

I’ve heard from several people who also received the iTea World samplers that this is the worst/most disappointing of the teas included so I’ve been hesistant to brew it myself. Honestly, though, I didn’t think it was that bad. Certainly not as memorable as several of the other teas have been, but it was pretty smooth with a very interesting array of tasting notes. The most striking were this very peculiar mix of sweet parma violet candies and more mineral and drying roasted peanut. I kind of liked the strange juxtaposition, though.

The leaf brewed out very quickly for an oolong, so only a few steeps. Part of that may be that this is one of the samples that’s a very sparse amount of tea leaf per packet so it was definitely a little less concentrated in my 100ml gaiwan that I accustomed to.

I was going to ask which comics you read, but you covered that in the IG post. =) How’re you enjoying She-Hulk?

Growing in high mountains and rich soil, this Minnan Narcissus dry leaves gave me a light white chocolate aroma.
After brewed, a soft smoky and floral. I don’t have any organoleptic from Narcissus but seemed pleasant rather than a striking presence. A little astringent after a few golden liquor cups, with a fresh woodsy aftertaste.

My first thought was of some type of paste with a floral back tone. The leaves are a dusty, dark chocolate. The initial aroma coming off the leaves was fruity now it’s a bit more charcoal. The liquor is a beautiful amber color. Liquor aroma is choral, mineral, and slightly floral. The flavor is a smattering of charcoal notes, a bit of baked bread, and floral notes. The floral notes are a bit tropical with hints of jasmine but strong in gardenia. The minerality plays well with the charcoal. An interesting balancing act on the palate.

A perfect cup of tea for the morning! The strong, roasted flavours get the taste buds going. The floral aftertaste has me coming back for me. A lovely cup of oolong tea. https://iteaworld.com/products/minnan-narcissus-oolong-tea

Nicely perfumed, very floral. Charcoal notes initially overpowering, but then there’s a nice grassy flavour after a few steeps. Tea page link here: https://iteaworld.com/products/minnan-narcissus-oolong-tea
