From HYLEYS

Among the world-famous symbols of Scotland are: the multi-colored plaid fabric called tartan, the bagpipe, the mackintosh, the Loch Ness monster and the striking beauty of Scottish lakes and highlands.

However, the Scots have been proud not only of these and their kilts and castles, but also of tea plantations situated thousands of miles away from home. It was James Taylor, a Scotsman, who cultivated the first successful commercial tea plantation of the island of Ceylon in 1867, thus becoming the founder of the tea industry in Sri Lanka.

The Scottish Pekoe tea is made by selective grading of tea with a special roll and twist. The infusion is of a beautiful golden color, has a delicate flavor and a velvety taste with a unique combination of mildness and pungency.
