A white that brews up almost purple? Wow. This surprised me at first, and I had to remind myself there’s acai and blackcurrant and blueberry leaf in here to change the color from what I’d consider a ‘normal’ white. In fact, I’d try to dye yarn with this, it’s quite a lovely purplish-brown hue. Drinking it is equally interesting: there’s a fullness of flavor here that surprised me, very generic sweet dark berry-ish. While I doubt I’ll ever seek this tea out, if presented to me, I’d definitely drink it.

1 teabag in 8 oz.

Thank you KittyLovesTea for sharing this with me!

I found this in my parents cupboards (I am dog sitting for them) and they buy herbal tea’s in for me so I might as well try this now and take a few home with me if it’s nice.

I don’t have many white tea’s on my shelf at home so it’s been a long time since I have had a cup of it. The colour is a nice golden yellow hue which reminds me of wheat fields in the summer. It smells quite nice and fresh with just a hint of berry, like a warm weak Ribena but not as sweet.

Berry tea’s are either hit or miss with me as they are either too strong or too bitter, too sweet, too synthetic…. they vary hugely. The first thing I notice is that this tea is very subtle on flavour altogether but it has enough taste to note the sweetness of the berry and the very slight bitterness in the after taste. It tastes very natural and pure to me which I am very pleased about.

I think this tea comes from www.goodnessdirect.co.uk which is where I have recently purchased a lot of tea’s from. £1.44 for 25 separately packaged tea bags of this is a very good price.

The more you drink of it the more the berry taste grows in your mouth but still at a nice strength. Nice as a relaxing agent on a cold and rainy day.

I’ve had one acai berry tea and similarly enjoyed it…….not a huge berry tea fan myself, but drink it for a refreshing change of pace.

I’ll bet acai berry is really good with white tea too.

A sample from KittyLovesTea. I like being presented with things that I wouldn’t otherwise try, so I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while. I like white tea in general, and most berry teas, so it’s a good combination for me. Initially, I was concerned about the colour this brews to in a surprisingly short time. It’s quite a dark brown, even in cooled water, and only for about 2 or 2.5 minutes. As another reviewer has commented, though, it does contain things like blackcurrant, liquorice and cranberry, so perhaps it shouldn’t be that much of a surprise.

The real proof is in the taste, of course, and the taste here is wonderful. The berry flavour is clear, slightly sweet, and very fresh tasting. Not a hint of artificiality at all. It’s mostly blackcurrant, I think — it actually reminds me of the hot ribena my mum used to make me when I was a child. It’s not as strong or as chemically sweet, but the flavour is there. There’s not much in the way of white tea to be found, but I suppose that can’t be expected when put next to strong flavours like blackcurrant.

I really like this one, and it’s something I’d consider purchasing for myself. I’m going to go and check out Goodness Direct, now!
