From Harney & Sons

This is an Oolong from the Wuyi mountians. Yancha means rock tea. It is a twisted and dark oolong. It has a lovely cooked fruit and flower aromas.

I’ve discovered that this tea has excellent re-steeping power. I’m on the 3rd steep and it hasn’t lost much of its tasty cooked-fruit flavour, so I might even go for another one after this. Jillian approves. ;)

This tea is a prime example of a “green-tasting” oolong (in my opinion). While it is not my preferred flavor profile, it’s still a tasty cup. I’m getting nutty, lightly fruity, asparagus-like notes from it. The first cup seemed quite vegetal to me, but the second steep has calmed down remarkably. Both cups are smooth as can be. A big “thank you” goes to Jillian for sending me a sample of this. She mentioned Wuyi Yancha’s “re-steeping power” in one of her posts. I’m looking forward to getting a few more cups out of this!

To celebrate our first appearance on Steepster, we brewed this all day long! What a great cup of tea with smooth nutty and fruity flavors. Rebrews were great as well!

I’ve been eyeing your oolongs for awhile, so the special today was too good an opportunity to pass up. It’s good to see tea sellers as well as tea drinkers on the site. :)
