From Dessert by Deb

Chocolate mint, mint chocolate – whichever way we say it, the combination is decadent and delicious in every dessert imaginable! Let it be known that this blend was inspired by two things: my favourite Charlie Brown character who is one sassy little lady AND my insane love of York peppermint patties. This black tea blend swirls together fresh peppermint and spearmint with chunks of dark chocolate, a splash of vanilla, and a touch of coconut. Fudgy, creamy, minty – what’s not to love?!

I am going to preface this by saying I don’t like chocolate in teas. However, this has so little chocolate taste, I actually like it. Very peppermint heavy with a lot of that roasted coffee taste which comes from cacao nibs. Vanilla was present in a good way. Overall, this teas was a good tea. Did it taste like peppermint patties? Not really.

Iced latte Sipdown (202)

This was fine but heavier on mint than I wanted so I’m content saying goodbye.

Another Deb tea! I’m so excited for the subscription… (mini dance)

This one is basically the same as her Mint Chip Cookie, but on a black base instead of a rooibos one. And just like that blend, it’s a bit underwhelming to me.

I do enjoy the mint, and the combination of peppermint and spearmint is a nice idea because the freshness of the spearmint really peps it up and tempers the herbal note of the peppermint. But because it’s not all spearmint, it doesn’t taste like chewing gum.

I’m never a fan of actual chocolate in tea, because the murkiness and oily surface is very unappetizing to me. I’m also not getting a ton of chocolate flavor given that this has both chocolate and cacao nibs in it. There is definitely some, but I want moar! There’s a little hint of creaminess from the vanilla, which I appreciate. I don’t get coconut.

I saw a recommendation from VariaTEA somewhere to try Mint Chip Cookie as an iced latte for a mint chip ice cream sort of feel, so maybe I’ll have to try that with this tea. I’ve been basically having a latte every day since getting a new milk frother… XD

Tiffany :)

I have both Peppermint Patty and Mint Chocolate Cookie in my stash but can’t remember which one I’ve had?? LOL! Anyway, when you get a milk frother suddenly it is latte’s galore, I agree. :)

Just from my recollection and my note for Mint Chip Cookie, they seem basically the same LOL. I can’t really taste the base tea in this blend and I’m not sure I tasted the rooibos in the other one either…

Yes! This tastes exactly like mint chocolate chip, but with a different base! I agree with everything you wrote. I think I personally prefer the mint chocolate chip rooibos one; however, the chocolate aspect of this tea is pretty underwhelming. I definitely want more chocolate. To me, it just ends up tasting like a mint tea. More chocolate!!!

Yes, MORE CHOCOLATE! Ha ha…

This is essentially mint chocolate chip cookie, but with a black tea base. However, I think I prefer her rooibos based version of this tea (this is surprising because I dislike rooibos). But with her other variation of this tea, the rooibos is in the background, and you get a pleasant mint/chocolate taste.

But with this one, the black tea overpowers the delicate mint notes. I even tried this one as a latte, but it was not the most pleasant. However, Deb’s other teas from the Holiday Cookie Collection have all been outstanding.
