From Den's Tea

Origin: Shizuoka

Pear’s sweetness and freshness are harmonized with full-bodied Sencha flavor. Den’s Pear Iced Green Tea is the most popular flavored iced green tea among our development team.

Brewing: Place one tea bag in 20 oz of water and let infuse for an hour. Occasionally shake or stir to bring out the flavor.

Yummmm! I cold-brewed a few of these bags in my half-gallon pitcher last night, and it is so yummy and refreshing today. Sweet, the pear flavor is really quite good. Sweet, juicy pear. The Sencha is more forward than the pear, and I like that. Very enjoyable … very nice on such a hot day (and evening).

This sounds really interesting

CupofTree

I’ve been seeing the crazy temps up there lately. Good to know I can still have my fav iced tea once moving there from florida where iced tea is pretty much mandatory lol

I received this in my shipment yesterday!
I am now drinking my water with a tea bag in it…SO delicious. The pear is not overly strong/fake tasting, and it doesn’t just taste like pear-flavored water. The sencha clearly comes through and the two go together amazingly well.
I’m curious to try it hot, but this is a yummy way to have water. Glad I bought 2 packs (of 10 bags each)… I wonder if you can resteep?

Preparation
Iced 8 min or more
Cofftea

I got this one too, along w/ the unflavored green. Although cold brewing goes against everything I think of when I think of tea lol. It’s because of this I doubt you could resteep. I could very well be wrong.

Shinobi_cha

Well, I’m going to try it today and I’ll post again if it works. Another option I will try soon for this tea (for first, or possibly 2nd steep) is the ice-brew method (putting the bag at the bottom of the pot, covering it with ice, and waiting until the ice is all melted)… If these do resteep, they will definitely be good value.

Cofftea

ice brew method? That’s a new one. Something I’d personally never try though.

Shinobi_cha

Really? You should, at least with unflavored japanese green tea, it is delicious! (Shinobicha is actually the term for it; shinobi means “patient” because you have to wait a long time for the ice to melt. It works much better than simple cold brew, because the freezing temperature has a similar effect on the tea that the hot/boiling temperature does. However, the freezing temperature brings out all of the flavor without any of the bitterness! Seriouly, try it!

Cofftea

How many ice cubes/bag?

I’ve never done it with a teabag, but usually I do 2 tsp loose tea, and fill a 12-16 oz container with ice. That link should explain more too.

OK, so I just don’t get why anyone would cold brew except in the case of an iced chai emergency… but my quest for the perfect pear green tea makes me do weird things. It was on sale a month or two ago, so I “had” to try it.

1 bag/18oz cold water in the fridge for 1 hr.

The liquor is a very yellowish green and just a touch cloudy… almost like lime juice.

The flavor is very light like I expected it to be, but is very vegetably w/ a bit of matcha-esk qualities to it… and… lime? huh? I’m tasting lime instead of pear. Could all of my pear fataliTEAS have totally screwed up my perception of what a pear tea should be?

Preparation
Iced 8 min or more

Lime and pear are pretty far apart…I’m inclined to think the tea is off, not your tastebuds!

Tea of the afternoon here. I am not sure what possessed me to buy more tea but I recently got a few things from Den’s. I definitely need to do a moratorium on tea buying after losing my job due to my arm injury.

This is a nice idea for summer time. I love the cold brew flavor of this and the sencha itself is bright and flavorful. I wish I was getting more pear out of this because the pear flavor is pretty mild. I don’t regret buying it though, it’s pretty tasty! To prepare this, you pop a tea bag into your cold water and steep it for at least an hour. I believe I did mine for about 3 hours.

Iced 8 min or more 1 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML
