From DAVIDsTEA

Ring-a-ling, hear them sing, it’s oolong time in the city. Enjoy this traditional blend dressed in creamy, buttery holiday style with a light floral finish. Dotted with rolled oolong pearls, this is the perfect holiday tea for all generations.

What makes it great:
Delicate and smooth, this oolong is a perfect traditional tea for holidays past, present and future.

This blend is inspired by the rural Chinese tradition of “monk’s blend,” where several teas are combined into one.

Smooth, creamy & buttery texture with floral aromas linger for a fresh feeling after every sip.

How it tastes:
Smooth, creamy & buttery with a delicate floral finish.

White tea, Milk oolong tea with natural milk flavouring (derived from lactose), Jasmine green tea pearls.

Sip down

I found an unopened bag of this in the sip down stash a week or two ago and decided it was time to open some of the teas which have sat a while. There was a hit of the creamy aroma from the milk oolong. I didn’t smell much of the jasmine green tea as I anticipated (milk oolong is typically an overpowering aroma though).

I brewed this as an iced tea on Saturday evening. I added 195F water + 4 steep time, over ice. The creaminess from the milk oolong was the predominant flavor, however, the jasmine green remained in the aftertaste. It was slightly bitter, although, it wasn’t bad. I think if there was more balance between the two teas, this tea would stand out a bit more. Quite the “middle of the road” blend for me.

Sipdown 40

Really sipping through my work stash of teas. This was fine. Milk oolong and jasmine, balanced pretty evenly. The milk flavor wasn’t my favorite- a bit too intense.

A really nice, buttery milk oolong blend. I adore Milk Oolongs and I love Jasmine green tea so this was a match made in heaven. I definitely plan on grabbing more in order to keep it in my stash long-term.

Today was a fun teamail day, with deliveries arriving from DAVIDsTEA, Tea Thoughts, and Simple Loose Leaf! I was really curious about this blend so I broke into it right away. After two steeps I remain somewhat underwhelmed. It’s creamy and floral but I think I want to play around with it a bit more to figure out how to get the most out of this tea.

A pleasant, light blend that contrasts well with some of the heavier seasonal flavors I usually enjoy this time of year. The jasmine stands out, with a creamy element that was surprising for a tea I was drinking on its own. I enjoyed this, but wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase it again.

This is my first unflavored tea and I liked it. The flavor is almost floral (probably the jasmine green tea pearls) but also smooth. Also works as a double steeping tea

Not a tea I normally would have picked out for myself but I was in a meeting earlier today and a coworker brewed a large pot of it and offered me a small teacup. How can you turn down already steeped tea from a friend/coworker!? The answer is that you just can’t…

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

(DavidsTea 2022: 4)

Got more jasmine this time, alongside the milk oolong. I feel like this is a blend I could make myself, though.
