This is a great refreshing iced tea with a bit of caffeine as it’s got the black tea base. It also has a nice tart mouthfeel. Really want to et my hands on more of this if whenever possible, I finished off the last of mine this week. This one is lovely really watered down, in my opinion. One teaspoon of sugar or agave per 16 oz is all you need. It really brings out the citrus notes and makes them sing! I cold brewed this one overnight. chef kiss!

The overwhelming aroma from this tea is from pomelo skin, and the flavor is grapefruit. I like grapefruit and never add sugar to it, but this tea is no more than a “meh.” I let my husband try my cup of tea and he suggested a little bit of honey to improve the flavor. I normally do not consume added sugars, partly because I don’t care for sweets and partly because I am trying to control my blood glucose levels (and I eat a low-carb diet too). So I grabbed our bottle of lemon honey (which we accidentally bought thinking it was regular honey to use in baking and with oatmeal). A small amount improved the flavor tremendously! But I still don’t taste mango. Another review suggested that this might be better as an iced tea and I will keep it long enough to try it! But the best part is that this tea thankfully DOES NOT CONTAIN STEVIA! Stevia makes my tongue swell so I had to throw out a bunch of DavidsTea that I didn’t realize contained it. Stevia isn’t as harmless as manufacturers want you to think; some people are allergic to it. Wouldn’t buy again but will keep it for awhile.

This reminded me somewhat of DT’s Country Lemonade (is that what it’s called?), but with a subtle mango twist. And no stevia (I think there’s stevia in the other?) I had it hot/warm and it was ok, but I think I should try it iced. Not quite sure how I feel about it yet.

Of note, may not be a blend for grapefruit haters. That’s the citrus note I pick up on most, and it looks like there’s pomelo peel in it, which explains that. I can’t recall if it was dominant when drinking the tea, but it certainly is permeating through the bag of dry leaf!

I was craving mango this weekend and though I wasn’t able to completely satisfy the craving I did steep up a handful of mango teas that helped take the edge off. In my head this is definitely more of a iced tea intended blend, but I also like it hot and that’s how I steeped it this time. It’s got a nice pucker and acidic brightness to it, and that makes the mango seem even more sweet and juicy. It’s just a very ripe and vibrant cup!

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
