From DAVIDsTEA

We’re so obsessed with golden milk – the ancient turmeric health tonic with coconut and black pepper – that we had to make a matcha version. This sweet and spicy stone-ground green tea combines the energizing benefits of matcha powder with hydrating coconut water, complexion-loving turmeric and a crack of black pepper, which is said to help the body absorb curcumin better. The result? A vibrant latte-ready blend that’ll have you radiating like a superstar.

How it tastes:

Spicy warmth with the sweetness of coconut water and a hint of vegetal green tea

What makes it great:

● With anti-inflammatory turmeric, hydrating coconut water and metabolism-boosting matcha, this healthy superblend is the triple threat you’ve been waiting for.

● This turmeric green tea blend takes golden milk lattes to a whole new level. Try it with hot frothed milk to see what we mean.

50 g of this matcha makes around 4-5 16 oz cups of hot/iced tea or 4-5 hot/iced tea lattes.

I’d been interested in trying this matcha for awhile, and finally caved with how cheap it is+free shipping. I know it was pretty divisive, but I absolutely loved it. I’m actually going to pickup a bit more, since the free shipping with any purchase promo is still going. I find it be exactly as a good golden milk should be, with the addition of a tiny bit of matcha flavor. I made it as an iced latte and slurped it down pretty quickly.

The other new matcha from this collection!

Ok; firstly kudos to the photography department for absolutely NAILING that swirl in the website picture for this tea – because that is STUNNING. Secondly, I think we just have to acknowledge that a turmeric matcha was obviously an inevitability for our matcha line up – with how insanely popular turmeric continues to be as an ingredient, it was just GOING to happen.

Am I happy about it? No – I don’t enjoy the taste of turmeric that much and I found that this one tasted really intense. However, I get it. This is probably going to do really well; it’s a well crafted blend and the choice to use coconut water powder instead of the cane sugar we usually use in our flavoured matchas was really smart; it adds a nice, refreshing undertone to this matcha and gives it that sort of fun “DT twist”.

You could also easily latte this, and it would be really similar to Golden Milk/Moon Milk – just not quite that beautiful gold hue since it has the green matcha tint. Flavour wise, it’d be spot on though IMO. So even if I’m not personally a fan, I get it. I’m not the audience, and I’m ok with that.

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

Dang. Now I feel like I should try this.
