Sipdown!
I finished this one off with a cold brew. This is very refreshing, I didn’t add any sweetener and I didn’t find that it needed it. The slight tartness is what makes it so refreshing I think.
I might have to stock up on this for the summer!

Cold Brew!

This one was a sort of surprise find in December when I was in Regina, and stopped at Cuppa’T to pick some stuff up. I hadn’t expected to see this available for purchase since it’s one of Cuppa’T’s summer blends and last year when I was hunting for it back in January and March I was told it’d be unavailable until the summer – and then I wasn’t back in the summer to look for it!

I’ve had this one once previously, but I adored it. Seeing it again and fearing I wouldn’t see it again anytime soon after I purchased 100g of it hoping that my tastes hadn’t drastically changed in the year since having it, and that I’d still love it.

- As amazing as I remember it being!
- Strong notes of dragonfruit, sweet cranberry, and passion fruit(?)
- Not sure about the passion fruit since it’s not in the blend; that’s what I got though
- Lesser notes of kiwi/pineapple/blueberry
- It’s just so juicy and flavourful with an ALMOST “punch” like quality
- Uber refreshing! Not too juice like or sickly/sticky sweet

The fact this tasted as perfect as I’ve built it up to be in my head was such a big relief!

EDIT: I should note, that because of this tea I’ve started eating actual dragonfruit!

Even though, for a fruit, it’s pretty expensive I’ve been aiming to eat at least one (but usually more) a week! It’s delightful in fruit salad or cut into fine cubes with just a small splash of white rum mixed with it. The fruit itself isn’t super flavourful and there’s a high water content, but what you can taste is phenomenal.

It doesn’t dethrone Pineapple as my favourite fruit – but it’s up there! Top 3 favourite fruits for sure!

Omg this sounds AMAZING!

For the record, since you have easy access, the closest I’ve ever seen another tea come to this one is the Dragonberry blend from Cornelia Bean!

Roswell Strange

Actually, I just looked up the two and they have identical ingredients – though I’ve had both, and I think the Cuppa’T blend has more dragonfruit in it than the CB one?

I feel like fresh-picked dragon fruit would be amazing. I don’t trust most exotic fruits in stores :P

This dry tea is just large chunks of dried fruit. The dragon fruit pieces are fair sized slices, and the cranberries are whole. I have to admit I ate some dried dragonfruit. I was super good. The only downsize was I bought 50g but it didnt give much becuase of the weight of the tea.

The tea brews up a beautiful dark pink colour. It smells of dragonfruit and slight tart berry, but not necessarily cranberry. The tea is quite light. I thought it would end up tart with the cranberry, but it isn’t. It tasted predominately of the dragonfruit. I did have to add some rock sugar to sweeten it a little bit.

Jule, the owner of Cuppa T, recommended to try this one cold brewed, so I have a pitcher in the fridge brewing overnight.

Thank you Roswell Strange for sharing. This is definitely a juice tea(especially cold brewed as I am having it) though I imagined the flavor would have been more elaborate than what I am getting. Cranberry tends to be more prominent than it is here. All I’m getting is dragon fruit, which is lovely but less than what I expected. Still, it’s a nice enough tea and I enjoyed the little bit that I had, even if it was different than what I thought I would be having.

Oh and turns out this is my 2400 tasting note. That’s a nice round number.

I put roughly 5 teaspoons of mix to steep into 1 litre/35 oz of cold water for approx 22 hours. The result is a pink/red liquid (watermelon coloured) that has a sweet, refreshing yet tart fruit scent. Very dragon fruity.

Flavour is very sweet with a slight tart after taste but liquid is quite thick and sugar syrup like. Similar to some instant iced tea mixes I’ve had before (I think they were Lipton). My cup even has some sort of white sugar like substance on the bottom, if I hadn’t known it was a fruit mix my guess would have been instant blend. Despite that though this is very nice, the flavour is nice, clean and refreshing yet it has enough sweetness to work well as an iced tea and a pinch of sour to stop it being too sweet. Fruit flavour wise it is heavy on the dragon fruit but also has a peach, mango and light mixed berry tones.

I have enough for another cold steep with the same parameters so I will do that for tomorrow, two of my husbands brothers are over for a drink and sleepover before they go to Wembley on Saturday to watch a football finals match. I don’t see them often, I live in Leicester and my husband is from Derby but moved here for me and though our cities are next to each other his family rarely visit and I rarely visit them. I’m putting it down to the fact that none of us can drive. Still it will be nice to have family over and this iced tea will be great with a splash of vodka or scotch :) Party iced tea.
